Applying for a course in Australia

While choosing your preferred course and institution, make sure to choose an institution registered in CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students), managed by Australian Government Department of Education that allow educational institutions to offer courses to overseas students on student visa. After submitting application to institution, you will receive an offer letter.  Once you submit your acceptance and pay your tuition fee to institution,  you will receive an ECOE (Electronic Confirmation Of Enrolment), then apply for student visa.

English Language Requirements

Australian universities and colleges accept both IELTS (International English language Testing System) and PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) scores.

  • For diploma programmers, IELTS overall band score of 5.5, with minimum 5.0 in all 4 bands.
  • For bachelor’s degree, IELTS overall band score of 6.0.
  • For graduate diploma and Masters programme, IELTS overall band score of 6.5.

Once you complete a bachelor, master or PhD programme from Australia, you will be eligible for Post Study Work Stream of Temporary Graduate Visa, and this helps you to stay in Australia after finishing your studiesDepending on qualification, you may stay between 2 and 4 years. Students who have completed bachelors and masters by course work can stay up to 2 years. Masters by research degree holders can stay up to 3 years.  A doctoral degree permits you to stay up to 4 years. You may also submit Expression of Interest through Australian Government’s Skill Select (online system of Department of Home Affairs that administers skilled and business migration program) seeking approval to stay as a professional worker in Australia.
